World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage. For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value). The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases. Components Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns. 
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods. A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each. The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after an update. The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted. Glyphs Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15. In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to enhance your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board. Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace. The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph. Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts. When you have the desired Glyphs You will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph. Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes. Leveling The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as “upping”. Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level. Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item. When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you don't require it. If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources. Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded. Requirements The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment. Each item can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades. If upgrade item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as chances to be crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure. When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance—whereas hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade. Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
